Sponsorship x4
Each year, Saving the Blue sponsors students to join our research expeditions, providing valuable opportunities to gain hands-on experience in marine science and conservation.
Featured below are four marine science students: Morgan and Christy from the United States, and Sia and Amari from the University of The Bahamas. Joining them in the field were local Bahamian marine expert Sarontaa and our local boat captain, whose knowledge, skills, and support are an essential part of our research efforts.
Together, the team worked on the creation and deployment of Baited Remote Underwater Video (BRUV) equipment, conducted drone surveys, collected valuable research data, and much more. Every expedition offers an opportunity to learn, collaborate, and contribute to our understanding of the marine environment.
For many of the students, these experiences represent their first opportunity to conduct research in and on the ocean, putting their studies into practice and gaining invaluable skills that will help shape their future careers. Experiences like these can be truly transformative, inspiring the next generation of marine scientists and conservationists.
We are incredibly grateful to our grant funders, including the Save Our Seas Foundation, as well as everyone who donates and supports our work. Your generosity helps make these opportunities possible, allowing us to invest in future marine scientists while continuing our vital research and conservation efforts in The Bahamas.
