- FAHLO’S SUPPORT AND IMPACT ON OUR RESEARCH -

We want to express our gratitude for the on-going support provided by Fahlo allowing us to continue our research efforts directly contributing towards marine conservation. Fahlo has become a trusted partner and their generous contributions towards reaching our scientific objectives allowed us to further develop and expand our always growing research projects.

Fahlo’s contributions are supporting three major research projects across three countries and eight different species. Not only have data generated from Fahlo-supported projects being used in national stock assessments but they will also keep providing results for studies examining the ecology of highly mobile, large-bodied shark species and thus are directly benefitting their effective management.

Finally, through their bracelets the opportunity to follow our sharks in near real-time is possible and Fahlo offer everyone to become part of the shark research community and provides a platform to inspire the next generation of ocean conservationists.

- FAHLO’S IMPACT ON ASPIRING SHARK SCIENTISTS -

Fahlo’s support provides opportunities to individuals that meet Saving the Blue’s Mission C goals with special attention to minority groups, youth, service members, and veterans and their families. We provide essential resources to all, including marine science students which allows us to offer them unique opportunities to gain invaluable research experiences and further their skills in the field of marine conservation.

Marine Biologist Shane Molander started formally working with Saving the Blue in early 2026, however he first joined the team through a sponsorship position back in 2024. Shane recently gained his Masters in Marine Science from Coastal Carolina University and started his PhD with Saving the Blue and the Florida International University in August 2026. His research includes the satellite tagging of tiger sharks and so far almost all of the sharks tagged were funded by Fahlo.

Fahlo has already played a key role in the early stages of my dissertation research. Thanks to both Saving the Blue and Fahlo, I am excited to take a deep dive into how Tiger Sharks use key habitats and how these large predators interact with their prey. I’m incredibly grateful for their support and look forward to continuing this work.
