This shark is male, measures a total length of ~100cm, and was fitted with a PIT tag; this type of tag does not transmit signals, but is scanned by researchers during a recapture, just like the tags used in pets. We’ll only get further information on this shark if we or other scientists catch it again. In exchange for this adoption donation, you will have the privilege of naming him, you will receive an adoption certificate, and if we recapture your shark, we will excitedly be in touch with an update!

General Information

Blacknose are sensitive, shy individuals with a maximum size of just 140cm. These sharks look fairly similar to Caribbean reef sharks, however they are typically much smaller, have a somewhat pointer head and typically have the cute black smudge on their nose for which they are named! If you’re looking for a cautious, low-key shark to adopt, these beautiful little sharks are the ones for you!
